Making a dish for a special date or festivity can be fun. Just like the recipe we're sharing today. This dish is inspired by Memorial Day, when many families get together to remember and celebrate their loved ones. Red, white, and blue are everywhere in the decoration and the food. And this cold oatmeal breakfast dish is no exception. It's perfect for kicking off your Memorial Day. The great thing about this dish is that you don't need to prepare anything in the morning because it's all done the night before. The flavors of the oats, yogurt, fruit, and milk blend overnight and make this a delicious, cold breakfast dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 12 strawberries, washed and stemmed
  • 1 1/3 cups fresh blueberries, washed
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups Yoplait® Original yogurt Vanilla
  • 2 cups Yoplait® Original yogurt Cherry or Strawberry

    Combine the oats and almond milk in a large bowl, cover, and reserve.

    Wash the strawberries and blueberries. Slice the strawberries and one banana.

    Take 1 8-oz glass or container, preferably with a lid. Mason jars are ideal for this recipe. Start forming layers. First, put a layer of bananas at the bottom (1/4 banana). Then, spread 3 tablespoons of oats and milk, 1-2 tablespoons vanilla yogurt, a layer of blueberries, another 3 tablespoons oats, vanilla yogurt, sliced strawberries and finish with a thin layer of oats. Cover and repeat for the other three glasses.

    Refrigerate overnight.

    The next morning, before serving, add one more generous layer of cherry or strawberry yogurt and any remaining fruit.

    For a sugar-free breakfast, use Yoplait® Light yogurt.

    For added color, you can add a layer of Yoplait® Blueberry yogurt.

    Another way of adding more white is to spread a layer of shredded coconut before serving.
