Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Shake

After going to the gym or working out, one of two things always happens when you get home: you’re either not hungry at all or you want to eat everything in sight. Our bodies really need a little boost after exercising. This peanut butter and oatmeal shake is an excellent breakfast, snack or post-workout treat. It’s refreshing, delicioso and wholesome.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 1/2 cups skim or soy milk
  • 1/4 cup dry oatmeal
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • Ice to taste

Directions

    Combine water, milk and oatmeal in a small pot and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon.

    Remove from heat and let cool. In a blender, blend the oatmeal with the peanut butter and mix until smooth.

    Add ice and serve.

    Prepare the oatmeal mix a few hours ahead of time and have it ready in the refrigerator. Simply add the peanut butter and blend together before serving.
