Ingredients

  • 3 cups water, divided
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 lb. fresh strawberries, washed and without stems
  • 1 1/4 cup aged tequila
  • Ice, as desired
  • Extra cinnamon sticks, for garnishing

Directions

  •
    1
Boil one cup of water together with sugar and cinnamon stick over medium heat. After the sugar has completely dissolved, remove from heat and let completely cool to room temperature.
  •

Next, purée the strawberries in a blender or food processor with two cups of water. Then strain the mixture into a two-liter pitcher. (This step is optional–I personally like the texture with the strawberry seeds.) Last, pour-in the tequila and sweeten with the prepared syrup infused with cinnamon.

    3
Rim your cocktail glasses in a mix of cinnamon and sugar before serving your prepared cocktail over ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick. ¡Salud!

Expert Tips
