A delicious and different way to make breakfast: tres leches pancakes! You read that right. Combine milk with condensed and evaporated milk. Easy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Vanilla extract, to taste (optional)
  • Oil, for cooking the pancakes

Directions

    Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.

    Add egg, evaporated milk, condensed milk, regular milk, butter and vanilla extract. Mix all ingredients while you heat up a frying pan or griddle.

    Use oil to lightly coat the surface of the frying pan and add a little of the pancake batter. Add enough batter until you have a pancake of the desired size.

    When it starts to bubble and the edges are dry, it’s time to flip. Cook on both sides and serve immediately.

    For thinner pancakes, add more milk to the batter.

    You can sprinkle sugar over the pancakes or serve them with maple syrup.
