We’re bringing the taste of Peru to your Thanksgiving table this year. A rich turkey gravy is given a shot of pisco which adds a floral note. The pisco in this recipe pairs well with the turkey broth. If you can’t find pisco feel free to substitute citrus flavored vodka in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups turkey or chicken broth
  • 1 ounce of pisco
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and white pepper to taste

Directions

    Melt butter in saucepan over medium-high heat.

    Add flour, stirring with a whisk.

    Gradually add turkey or chicken broth and pisco whisking until blended.

    Cook for 2-3 minutes until gravy is thick, stirring constantly.

    Stir in lemon zest.

    Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    Pisco is a bold spirit that can be found near the vodka and gin in your local liquor store. If you are new to pisco, slowly add the pisco to this gravy recipe until you reach desired flavor.
