Energy Bites with Chocolate and Super Seeds

These bites are super easy to make. They’re ideal for everyone and any occasion: they are packed with energy, are delicious, and kids love them! This is my favorite recipe because it has some of my favorite ingredients: chocolate, dates and a combination of super seeds. Try it!

Ingredients

  • 14 dates, pits removed
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon raisins
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate powder
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 pinch Himalayan pink salt or sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions

    Add the dates and raisins to a food processor and process until you only have a few large pieces left.

    Add the rest of the ingredients (except chocolate chips) and process until everything is well combined. Add the chocolate chips and combine.

    Spread out the dough on a baking tray. Freeze for 30-60 minutes to harden. Remove from freezer and cut into squares. Serve or keep frozen until ready to serve.

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
    For a lower sugar option, leave out the raisins.
  • tip 2
    To make it sweeter, add 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup.
