Chicken nuggets are crunchy little snacks that tide the kids over when they start to get hungry or when unexpected guests show up at the door. I like including them on the menu at children's parties because they quickly become everyone's favorite appetizer, and the only thing left afterwards are the crumbs on the plates, and the smiles on all the children’s faces. Try this delicious recipe and serve it with honey mustard. If they're a hit, you can make some extra and put them in the freezer to enjoy later on.

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Cooking spray
  • 3 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Directions

  •
    1
    Heat the oven to 350°F.
  •
    2
Debone the chicken breasts, remove the skin, and cut them into fairly large pieces.
  •
    3
Season with garlic salt to taste, cover with plastic wrap, and allow them to marinate for a few minutes in the refrigerator.
  •
    4
In a bowl, mix the flour, the panko, and a little more garlic salt.
  •
    5
In another bowl, mix the beaten egg and the milk.
  •
    6
Dip the chicken pieces into the egg and milk wash, and dredge them in the bowl with flour and panko.
  •
    7
Make sure that the chicken is well coated.
  •
    8
Grease a baking pan with cooking spray.
  •
    9
Place the breaded chicken pieces in the pan and bake them for about 15 minutes, or until they look golden brown.
  •
    10
Make the sauce by mixing the mustard with the honey.
  •
    11
Serve the chicken nuggets hot, with the sauce on the side.
