I have a sweet tooth; that's why I have a hard time saying no to a delicious dessert. For this reason, lately, I have been preparing sweet recipes that I don’t feel guilty about later. Fruit pizza is a big thing, but I wanted to try something fun and different that I knew my kids and I would like. That’s why I prepared these delicious apple nachos!

Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized Gala apples
  • Lemon juice, to taste
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 2-3 tablespoons granola
  • 2-3 tablespoons shredded coconut
  • 2-3 tablespoons sliced almonds
  • Yoplait® Original plain yogurt, to taste

Directions

  •
    1
Thinly slice the apples. Sprinkle with some lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
  •
    2
Melt the chocolate chips with the coconut oil in a double boiler. You can also use the microwave, but be extra careful to avoid burning the chocolate.
  •
    3
Now, all you have to do is serve the nachos! Start with a layer of apples and pour some of the melted chocolate over the top. Continue with this process, layering apple and chocolate until you’ve used all the apple slices.
  •
    4
Cut the strawberries and arrange over the top with the blueberries and more chocolate.
  •
    5
Add the granola, shredded coconut and almonds. To finish, top these nachos with some of the yogurt and serve.

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
For crunchier nachos, place this plate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.
